Love of Nature
Forest imagery, luminous lettering and later dated commissions.
Explore the WorkForest, light and lettering
Steven places luminous words inside forest scenes, making an expression of love part of the landscape itself. Light, shadow and reflections draw the eye between the trees, the lettering and the imagined space around them. The 2024 work combines photomontage, generative imagery and physical layering.

The dated commission record
The archived artist CV records Love of Nature #3 for Taffy Stream in Portland in 2024 and Love of Nature #4 for Umi Games in Portland in 2024. Taffy Stream has a separate commission study and montage in the archive.
Concept studies
Digital and AI-assisted studies explore illuminated cubes, reflective landscapes and architectural color.

Light in the forest
Luminous lettering and its reflection connect the forest scene with the image’s physical layers. Framed and gallery presentations show proposed settings for the work.
The image as an object
Some Love of Nature works were Steven’s first tests of large-format Stereo Layering. Bubbles and irregularities remained within the layers; the collection text treats those traces of making as part of the works’ character. The light and neon-script imagery connects a digital composition with a physical encounter.
The original Love product page lists a 2-foot-square illuminated format. The concept studies explore how the same vocabulary of lettering, reflection and forest space might develop. The glowing lettering is part of the imagery; its appearance alone does not identify a particular fabrication material.
Original collection description
Steven’s description from the earlier collection page.
The "Love of Nature" series invites viewers into serene forest landscapes, where the enchanting play of light and shadow unveils the mysterious beauty of nature. At the heart of these tranquil scenes emerge radiant, crystal-clear messages crafted in ethereal neon script. Some pieces in this series were the original tests for Steven's large-format Stereo Layering technique and are riddled with bubbles and human errors, adding a unique charm to the works.
