Artwork & studies
Visual Art
Stereo Layering, photomontage, studies and proposals explore color, perception and imagined worlds. Earlier work includes Up Here From Down There, the Iraqi Dinar / Bush series and installations. Images and videos introduce these works; the Stereo Layering depth effect is experienced in person.
Stereo Layering
Photomontage, artificial intelligence and physical layering create an illusion of depth on a flat surface. The effect is formed in the viewer’s perception and can only be experienced in person.

Explore Historical ArtworkThe Cathedral / Ethereal Corridor
Striped columns and arches lead the eye through a luminous corridor. The Cathedral / Ethereal Corridor is an early Stereo Layering experiment focused on sparkling color and shimmering lines. Its effect comes from shimmer rather than the depth illusion in other works.
Ethereal Corridor
Ethereal Corridor is a mesmerizing visual journey that invites viewers into a futuristic cathedral of light and symmetry. Striped columns rise to meet arched canopies, leading the eye through a tunnel aglow with iridescent tones and neon vibrancy. This piece is an exploration of perception, where the interplay of color and form creates a sense of depth and movement that dances before the eyes. Each element is meticulously layered, producing a twinkling effect that challenges the brain's interpretation of space. As one of Steven's first Stereo Layered artworks, Ethereal Corridor marks a pioneering foray into testing color and the sparkling effects caused when the mind strives to harmonize lines. While this work doesn't cause the brain to create a 3d effect, the shimmering is the focus.
