The series

Steven’s Rising Gods series imagines figures emerging from natural forces. Fiery colors and cool blues set creation and turbulence against calm. The 2024 collection brings photomontage, generative imagery and physical layering together, extending that tension from the depicted scene into the viewer’s perception.

Rising Gods Waves

The wave composition connects the repeating motion of the ocean with the persistence of human stories. In Steven’s collection text, sunset closes one day while the forms rising from the water suggest a history that continues to shape the present. Orange surf and a green sea give the series two different emotional temperatures.

The original product pages describe photomontage, generative AI and layering, with a listed 2-foot-square display format. The images and presentation mockups show different views of that visual idea. As with the wider Stereo Layering practice, Steven places the full perceptual encounter in the presence of the work.
